How To Purchase Bainbridge Island Ferry Tickets

Bainbridge Island Ferry tickets can be purchased via the following methods:

  • In Person: Bainbridge Island Ferry tickets are available to purchase at both the Seattle and Bainbridge ferry terminals. You can pay with a credit card, cash, ORCA Card, or travelers checks.
  • Seattle Ferry Terminal: You can purchase tickets at the staffed ticket booth, or via self-serve kiosks which can be found in the passenger building, or in the enclosed walkway that leads into the passenger building. If you are purchasing with cash, you may only do so at the staffed ticket booth.
  • Bainbridge Ferry Terminal: You can purchase tickets at the auto tollbooths, or at the self-serve kiosk inside the terminal waiting room.
  • Online: You can purchase tickets in advance online via the Washington State Department of Transportation's Wave2Go website via credit card.

Summer Season Ticket Price Surcharge

Applicable to fares for regularly priced Vehicle & Driver fares only, during the summer season (May 1st to September 30th) ticket prices for the Bainbridge Island Ferry will include a peak season surcharge. This surcharge will be reflected in the prices noted in the table above during the applicable time period.

Multi-Ride Commuter & Vehicle Cards & Monthly Passes

Multi-ride Commuter Cards (valid for ten round trip rides) are available for $82.05, and a commuter Monthly Pass (valid for 31 round trips) is available for $131.30.

Similarly, multi-trip Vehicle & Driver cards (valid for 20 rides) are available starting at $233.55

Pre-Purchases & Reservations

The Bainbridge Island Ferry route does not accept Vehicle & Driver ticket reservations (see note below on ferry capacities). While not a reservation, you may still pre-purchase your tickets up to 90 days in advance.

Ferry Capacity Limits

The Bainbridge Island Ferry vessels have limited capacities for vehicles of only 202 spaces (M/V Tacoma) and 144 spaces (M/V Suquamish). Accordingly, if you are planning to drive your vehicle aboard the ferry, please note the boat can fill quickly, especially for the busiest departure times. Purchasing your tickets in advance will save you time going through the toll booth, but does not guarantee you a spot on the boat as the ferries are loaded on a first-come, first serve basis. You are advised to please arrive well in advance of your scheduled departure time. With passenger capacities of 2,499 and 1,500 - if you are just walking-on to the boat, there should be no need to worry.
